The National Night out was a huge success just in terms of the number of people that attended, estimated community attendance was 600 to 700 people. Families from all around brought their children of all ages to take part. Introducing them to area law enforcement, fire department personnel along with EMT’s. WCPD Officer Jeff Jensen stated, “That it was nice to see community resources present as well.”
The Watford City Police Department, McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, McKenzie County Fire and Ambulance, Arnegard and Keene Fire Department’s were equally present and on display seeing the officers and equipment on full display. The community was able to meet and gather valuable information from those present. Almost no one attending left empty handed. Many gave away candy, water bottles, first aid kits, stickers and popsicles. A free meal to the public was served by several volunteers and enjoyed by all.
