New Alexander Daycare estimated at $5.4 million

An update was given to the McKenzie County Board of Commissioners by representatives of the City of Alexander and those they have partnered with regarding the new childcare facility that has begun the planning stages in the development process.
One of the figures that was updated during the report was the overall dollar amount that the city was going to need from the county in order to complete the project. This request is being made as a way to avoid raising taxes on residents, and keeping the emergency funds in place that they have built up as part of a long-term plan to be financially prepared for future events.
The current estimated amount that will be asked of the county is around $5.4 million dollars. This is an increase on the initial estimation because current material pricing has increased, and a more complete plan for the project has been developed.
