Petitioners call for Olson’s removal from P&Z

Calling Jeremy Olson’s actions at the Feb. 8 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting unprofessional and an attack on two other board members, Lance Powell of Alexander presented a petition with 80 signatures to the McKenzie County commissioners during their Tuesday, March 2, meeting asking for his removal.
“I’m sure that you all watched it (the Feb. 8 Planning & Zoning meeting video),” stated Powell. “It was a pretty unprofessional rant to attack one board member and another who was attending her first meeting. It was amazing to watch someone so unprofessional.”
According to Powell, Olson has previously alluded to that there are already enough farmers and ranchers serving on the Planning & Zoning Commission and that there needs to be more qualified members.
“Is that to say that farmers and ranchers aren’t qualified to be on a planning and zoning board?” questioned Powell. “We (the petitioners) want him (Olson) removed if he doesn’t resign. It’s not right how he treated our elected officials.”
