Street Fair & Block Party to kickoff Main Street Summit downtown Watford City

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, between  4-10 p.m., Watford City’s Main Street will be closed to all traffic from 3rd Avenue to Park Ave., for a Main Street Summit Kickoff and Downtown Block Party.
The Watford Chamber of Commerce has invited all downtown businesses to participate in the event with after hours retail shopping. Participating businesses will be offering MSS Food and Drink Specials. Attendees who have registered for the summit can wear their event lanyard to the participating businesses during the block party and receive special perks, such as discounted prices on their purchases.
Part of the Block Party Kickoff is a Social Media Blitz of “shopping, eating and drinking in Watford City.” This means that if a registered attendee purchases a MSS Special like the “Arnegard Martini,” or a “SUMMIT Cesar,” there is a strong possibility of it being promoted on social media.
Organizers of the Kickoff told The Farmer that if anyone wants to take advantage of the MSS Food and Drink Specials, but hasn’t pre-registered to attend the summit, there will be registration available Tuesday at Outlaws’ Bar & Grill in Watford City. A list of participating businesses will be available on the visitwatfordcity app.
In the Square Lot next to Door 204 on Tuesday, there will be live music, food trucks and a mechanical bull for attendees and the general public to enjoy.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the Rough Rider Center will feature the Main Street Farmer’s Market and Maker’s Fair. Community members will be able to shop a variety of products that are grown or hand-crafted locally. The event will also feature a range of Pride of ND products.
