Eighteen-year-old Dylan Reddington was arrested March 17, following a drive-by shooting that took place in the early morning hours of March 7, 2015, in Watford City. The Watford City Police Department responded to a ‘shots fired’ call that had been dispatched at approximately 5 a.m. that morning. The Watford City Police Department was able to determine that several shots had been fired, striking a residence in the neighborhood of the 100 block of Roosevelt Street. The shots had initially been reported to have taken place in the 100 block of Lincoln Street.
On March 17, the Watford City Police Department conducted a search warrant of the suspect’s residence based upon information obtained through an extensive investigation.
“The investigation took a lot of work and involved most of the department in one way or another,” said Art Walgren, Watford City Police Department chief of police. “It was a great team effort.”
During execution of the search warrant, numerous items of evidence were located and seized from the suspect’s vehicle and residence. Some items of evidence have been sent to the North Dakota State Crime Lab for further analysis.
After completion of the search, Reddington was arrested and charged with Criminal Attempted (Murder) and Reckless Endangerment.
