Teen Vehicle Crime Spree Leads To Arrests

Two Juveniles Arrested Following Firearm Theft, String of Vehicle Break-Ins Across Watford City.


The juveniles, both 13 years of age, were taken into custody and held at a juvenile detention center after an overnight crime spree that allegedly involved the theft of a firearm and the unlawful entry of more than 20 vehicles throughout Watford City, according to the Watford City Police Department.


Police say the investigation began at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, when officers responded to the 300 block of 6th Street NE after receiving a report that two juveniles had entered private property and stolen a handgun from an unlocked vehicle.


Witnesses reportedly observed the juveniles leaving the area while carrying the loaded firearm. Officers quickly responded and gathered witness statements and surveillance footage, providing investigators with descriptions of the suspects. Law enforcement conducted an extensive overnight search but was initially unable to locate the pair.
