Two injured in U.S. Highway 85 crash

A crash on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 19, north of Alexander left two people injured.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at about 10:55 a.m. a Chevrolet Silverado pulling a flatbed trailer was travelling north on Highway 85 near mile marker 176.5, near the state weigh station south of Indian Hill.
The Chevrolet, operated by a 33 year-old Williston man, lost control on icy roads and crossed over into the southbound lane of travel in front of a 2007 Ford F-150. A 26 year-old male passenger was also in the vehicle. The Ford was driven by a 66 year-old man from Arnegard.
The Chevrolet struck the passenger side of the Ford in a t-bone fashion. The driver of the Ford was transported to CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center and later flown to Trinity Health, Minot. The Chevrolet driver and passenger were transported to CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. All involved were reported to be wearing seat belts and road conditions at the time of crash were reported to be icy.
Current charges of driving without a license were listed for the Silverado driver along with no insurance for the passenger, who is listed as the owner of the Silverado. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Emergency response included the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Fire & Ambulance, and North Dakota Highway Patrol.
