Two new records set by North Dakota energy sector

March set two new records in the energy sector according to the June Director’s Cut presented by North Dakota Director of Mineral Resources, Lynn Helms.
The preliminary numbers from March show that there were 72 permitted or new wells during the month. There were a total of 40 rigs and 15 active frac crews. The number of wells waiting on completion increased from 300 in February to 345 in March. There were 1949 inactive wells, and the number of completed wells dropped from 92 in February to 56 in March. However, there was a new all time high number of producing wells with 18,854 actively producing in North Dakota.
