Watford City gears up to host governor’s Main Street Summit

Watford City is preparing to host the governor’s Main Street Summit (MSS) Aug. 27-28.
McKenzie County Economic Development Director Daniel Stenberg explained, “The Main Street Summit highlights ideas for communities and organizations to consider that could help them become more efficient, vibrant and healthy. The Summit includes national keynote speakers, breakout sessions, panels and unique networking events and tours throughout the community. This year’s theme is regional prosperity.”
Community and Business Development Director of City of Watford City, Vawnita Best added, “MSS is a convening of people who care about their communities and North Dakota.  There are four pillars of Governor Burgum’s Main Street Initiative to Strengthen North Dakota Community: 1. Smart, Efficient Infrastructure; 2. 21st Century Workforce; 3. Economic Diversification 4. Healthy, Vibrant Communities.The Summit celebrates communities and stacks a power packed agenda and lineup of dynamic speakers sharing on topics to unleash the power of North Dakota’s communities!”
