“It was surprising, honestly. Like how close we all got. Some people I never thought I’d talk to, I ended up having the best time of my life with,” says Kylee Brothers, of the Watford City High School Band taking a trip to Orlando, Fla., for the National Music Competition earlier this month.
Through the course of the competition trip, the Watford City High School (W.C.H.S.) Band received an Excellent Rating award, which is the second highest possible rating, according to Watford City High School Band Director Matthew Page.
“They did extremely well. Especially for their first time coming to a competition at this level,” Page says.
As the W.C.H.S. Band departed North Dakota on March 9, they arrived back home late evening March 20 as Page says they basically traveled for a week.
