Watford City man charged with promoting sexual performance by a minor

Kenneth Warren, 18, of Watford City, is facing two Class B Felony charges for promoting sexual performance by a minor and multiple Class C felonies for possession of certain materials prohibited, all of which require offender registration if convicted.
According to documents filed with the Northwest Judicial District the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office was assigned to investigate a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on July 31, 2023.
The CyberTip detailed that two files of suspected child sexual abuse material were sent via Instagram Direct Messenger, along with a message sent immediately after the files that were transferred stating “Here’s some of them.”
