Watford City Volunteer Fire Department Responds to Nearly 300 Calls

The Watford City Volunteer Fire Department experienced another busy year in 2025, responding to hundreds of emergency calls across the community and surrounding rural areas.
According to the department’s annual report, firefighters were paged out 339 times during the year. Of those calls, 65 were canceled before crews left the station and 32 were canceled while firefighters were en route, resulting in 299 active incidents handled during 2025.
The total represents an increase from previous years. The department responded to 283 calls in 2024 and 226 calls in 2023, reflecting a continued upward trend in demand for emergency services.
