As the sound of laughter could be heard in the distance, the smell of wood-smoked ribs was oh so very near during the 19th Annual Ribfest, which was in full swing last Friday, Aug. 13.
“We pretty much filled the streets,” says Jessie Veeder of Long X Arts Foundation, who helps organize the event. “We had a good VIP showing with people coming from all over the state.”
After COVID-19 put the breaks on plans for 2020’s Ribfest, the community was bummed. But this year, the annual event came back with a vengeance.
“I think this Ribfest was definitely better than most because Wynonna was there,” says Tawnya Rojas, a Watford City resident. “In my opinion, they were trying to make up for cancelling it last year.”
