This year, Watford City High School and Watford City Middle School have implemented a new program to keep phones out of students’ hands during class to allow them to fully focus on learning. This is being done through the implementation of Yondr pouches.
Yondr pouches are specially designed pouches that hold a cell phone inside it and lock with a special, tamper proof, magnetic system at the beginning and end of each school day.
“It takes seconds for students to lock and unlock the Yondr pouch. Our entire building of 467 students are able to unlock their pouches within 2-3 minutes total. It has been a smoother transition that I had expected, so we are very pleased,” said Dr. Noelle Green, principal of Watford City Middle School.
