David Arnold

Funeral services for David Arnold, 61 of Watford City were held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the First Lutheran Church in Watford City. Pastor Rob Favorite officiated. Interment was held in the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City, N.D.
David D. Arnold was born on May 20, 1952, Williston, N.D., to Harold and Mabel (Ellis) Arnold. They lived in Williston until David was seven years old when they moved to Ft. Benton, Mont.,  where he graduated from high school. He attended UND in Williston where he received his diesel mechanic degree. David moved to Watford City to work as a mechanic and met the love of his life, Louise Pittsley. They were married on Feb. 20, 1976, in Watford City, N.D. After the marriage they made their home east of Watford City.
David loved camping, fishing with family and friends, woodworking, gardening and working with his wife in their greenhouse. David also enjoyed writing books and spending time on the computer. David and Louise took foster children into their home for several years.
David was taken from us on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson, N.D., following a lengthy battle with heart disease.
David is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Louise Arnold, Watford City, N.D.; his best friend, Yogi, his Golden Retriever; his siblings, Josh (Sue) Arnold, Rochester, Minn.; Barry (Trish) Arnold, Harry (Marcy) Arnold, and Marty (Sam) Arnold, all of Williston, N.D.; his father-in-law, Glen (Rosalie) Pittsley, Bowman, N.D.; brothers-in-law, Glenn (Merly) Pittsley, Merced, Calif.; Donald Pittsley and Jim (Kristi) Pittsley both of Watford City, N.D.; and Dwight Norby, Keene, N.D.; sisters-in-law, Karen (Dale) Hagen, Arnegard, N.D.; Ellen (Jim) Jefferson, Mandan, N.D.; Nancy (Dennis) Cornwell, Jerome, Idaho; Mary Pittsley, Mandan, N.D.; and Sandee Pittsley, Killdeer, N.D.; two special foster daughters, Betty and Becky; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. David will be missed by all of us.
He was proceeded in death by: his parents, Harold and Mabel Arnold; his grandparents, Roy and Emma Arnold and Emmons and Alice Ellis; an infant sister; mother-in-law, Betty Pittsley; brothers-in-law, Leroy Pittsley and David Pittsley; and sister-in-law, Della Norby.
