Delores Maston

Funeral service for Delores Maston, 78, of Watford City, N.D., was Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the Banks Lutheran Church with pastor Rob Favorite officiating. Interment was in the Banks Lutheran Church Cemetery under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Watford City. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.Fulkersons.com.
Delores Elaine Maston was born Mar. 5, 1934, to Melton and Mabel (Erickson) Pederson in Watford City, N.D. She grew up on the family farm near Banks, N.D., and attended rural schools in grade school and Watford City High School. She married Herbert Maston on Aug. 8, 1950, in Sidney, Mont.
Herby and Delores made their home on the Maston family farm from the time of their marriage until health issues forced them to move “to town.” Delores moved from her apartment to the Good Shepherd Home in October 2010. She was a true farm wife, and active participant in all chores inside and outside of the house. She could run all the machinery (do minor repairs if needed), ride a horse, doctor any animal in need, be Herby’s right hand man and raise four children and run a household.
Delores was very involved in the Banks Community. She taught Sunday School, was a 4-H leader for many years, and drove school bus while her children were growing up. She was a member of the Homemakers Club. Delores was an avid crafter trying out many of the new “trends” that came along. She sewed much of the clothing her family wore, could knit and crochet.
While Delores was Banks Church treasurer, she gathered and organized many of the old church records to a single location. She was also the township clerk for many years, a member of Operation Round Up, and worked with her daughter, Carol, in the flower shop.
Delores died Tuesday morning, Nov. 13, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City, N.D.
Delores is survived by her children, Donna Maston, Don (Judy) Maston, Carol (Brooks) Kummer, Watford City, N.D., Diane Maston Ehrlich (Curt Steinhaus), Devils Lake, N.D.; her grandchildren, Shonna Auld, Bothell, Wash., Cody and Jessica Kummer and their children, Nickoli, Regan, and Connor, Bismark, N.D., Albert Falcon, Williston, N.D., Andrea and Jason Gressman and their children, Cale, Kylind, Creide, and Kearyn, Montrose, Colo.; Erin Phillips and Ross Thomas, Bozeman, Mont., and Fallon Maston, Watford City, N.D.; her brother, Robert (Ardis) Pederson, their children and their families, Watford City, N.D.; her brother-in-law, Ed Heide, Seattle Wash.; her sister-in-law, Jennie Maston, Cutbank, Mont.; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
