Joseph Bredwick

Joseph (Joe) Leroy Bredwick passed away at St. Pat’s Hospital in Missoula, Mont., on June 10, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Joe was born Dec. 20, 1941, and grew up on the family farm near Watford City, N.D. He attended college in Wahpeton, N.D., and was a Union Electrician his entire life.
A quiet and gentle soul by nature, Joe spent the last days of his life being tended to by 17 of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his six children from his first marriage to Irene Ann Henderson; Pam, Randy, Paula, JoAnn, Rhonda and Leslie. Joe also has four step-children from his second marriage to Dorothy (Mason) Bredwick; Norman, Dale, Jeanne and Joyce. Eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren will continue to carry Grandpa Joe in their hearts forever.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Neil and Lillian Bredwick, his second wife, Dorothy Mason Bredwick, and his great-grandson, Tyler Weber.
Community friends and family members who have known, loved and supported Joe Bredwick throughout his life are invited to share with Joe’s children in honoring his last wishes that he return home to North Dakota to rest beside his parents at the Red Wing Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Wilmington Lutheran Church in Arnegard, N.D., at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. The memorial service and interment of ashes will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Red Wing Cemetery.
