June Chisholm

June Chisholm, 73, a longtime Arnegard, N.D., resident, died Sunday afternoon Aug. 30, 2009, at the Westhope, N.D., Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Wilmington Lutheran Church in Arnegard. Pastor Tim Swenson officiated, and interment was held at  the Wilmington  Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may share their condolences and memories with the family online at www.fulkersons.com.
June Marie Chisholm was born June 21, 1936, to Clarence and Minnie (Hanson) Thorson in Williston, N.D. She was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School in 1954. Upon graduation, June started work at the Williams County Courthouse in the Registrar’s Office. She lived with her mother for several years until her mother’s death.
On Sept. 2, 1972, June was united in marriage to Alexander Chisholm at Williston, N.D., where they made their home. After briefly residing in Alexander and Bainville, Mont., the couple moved to Arnegard. While living there, Al and June owned and operated Chisholm’s Grocery and Liquor. They later moved to Watford City where Al worked as a mail carrier and June stayed home. In 2003, the couple returned to Arnegard. Al passed away in 2004.
June was a member of BPW and Wilmington Lutheran Church in Arnegard. June enjoyed crocheting. She was always a cat person, and loved them very much.
June is survived by her son, James (Tracy) Chisholm of Bottineau, N.D., and their daughter, Elizabeth; nephews, Wayne Quinnell of Portland, Ore., Clair (Kathy) Thorson, of Williston, N.D.; nieces, Alverna (James) Martin, of Gresham, Ore., Cheryl (Bruce) Lulow, of Vancouver, Wash., and Tammy (Kal) Beckman, of Williston, N.D.; and sister-in-law, Emma Thorson, of Williston, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alexander; brother, Ralph Thorson; sisters-in-law, Frances Quinnell and Nelva Dalby; and brother-in-law, Raymond Dalby.
