Linda Wold

Linda Kaye Wold, 78, of Watford City, N.D., passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Sanford Health Hospital in Bismarck, ND.   
Linda was born on Sept. 7, 1944, to Ivy Anderson and Norman “Bud” Heggen in Williston, N.D. She was raised in Alexander, N.D., and graduated from Alexander High School in 1962. She attended college for one year in Fargo, N.D., before moving to Williston, N.D. to work as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. Linda also worked as a waitress in Williston. She later moved to Minot, N.D., to work as an administrative assistant for an architectural firm. Linda worked for the McKenzie County ASCA office and later worked for MDU for about 16 years. She started working at the Watford City Vet Clinic and semi-retired four years later. Throughout the years, Linda raised numerous pets, including kittens, raccoons, skunks, goats, dogs, and calves. She enjoyed watching NBA basketball and professional bull riding.  
In the fall of 1971, she met Lynn Wold and they were later married on Nov. 24, 1972, and they currently farm and ranch north of Watford City. Lynn and Linda recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October 2022.
Linda enjoyed baking chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made the best goulash and homemade fried chicken gravy. Linda was a very devoted loving, wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. She will be missed very much.
Linda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lynn Wold; son, Shayne (Anne) Heggen of Rawson, N.D.; step-children, Wade (Dana) Wold, Wynn (Shirley) Wold, and Wanda (Brent) Lillibridge, all of Watford City; grandchildren, Ashley (Todd) Boepple, Kalden Heggen, Kelly (Randy) McDowell, Chandra Nitz, Madison (Curtis) Coffman, Abby Brown, Cambree Hovland, Kira Wold, Logan (Haiden Creel) Wold, Jaime (Brian) Tucker, Colby (Molly) Peterson, Jenna (Jason Baker) Byrd, and Ryan (Elizabeth) Peterson; 15 great-grandchildren, Lorelye, Forrest, Suade, Sophie, Kenadee, Tristan, Kieren, Vayda, Wrenley, Kylie, Landin, Madison, Roman, Rylan, and Emory; sisters-in-law, Norma Sue Lundstrom and Karen Heggen.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Norman “Bud” and Ivy Heggen; brother, John Heggen; niece, Renee Heggen; mother-in-law, Margaret Wold; and many aunts and uncles.

Funeral Service for Linda will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Watford City, N.D. Pastor Paul Balabon will officiate. Visitation for Linda will be held at the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Watford City, N.D., on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 2 to 6 p.m. with a Friends and Family Service to follow. Linda will be laid to rest at the Garden Valley Cemetery in Watford City, N.D.
