Lloyd Papineau

Lloyd Papineau, 91, of Williston, N.D., passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 27, 2018, at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Williston.
Lloyd David Papineau was born in Williston, N.D., to Sidney and Alice (Simpson) Papineau on November 21, 1926. He was raised and educated in Charbonneau, N.D.
In May of 1945, Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as an airplane engine mechanic. He was honorably discharged in November of 1946.
On May 27, 1950, Lloyd was united in Marriage to Arlene Runestad in Williston, N.D. The couple raised their five children in the Alexander area where Lloyd farmed and ranched. Arlene passed away on October 15, 1983. On May 24, 1986, Lloyd married Lois Brevik in Epping, N.D. They made their home in Epping before moving to Williston in 2011.
Lloyd was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Williston, the American Legion, the Charbon Township Board, the Elks and the Epping Senior Citizens. He also drove school bus for Alexander school.
Lloyd enjoyed restoring old tractors, boating, woodworking and hunting.
Surviving Lloyd are his wife, Lois; sons, Philip (Sharon) Papineau, Steven Papineau, and Jerome Papineau; daughters, Kerry (Gunay) Raghib and Kristi (Todd) Pesek; one sister, Avonne (David) Pederson; 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; step-children, Carol (Jim) Baldwin, Jerry (Jeanne) Brevik, Lyjean Smith and Thomas (Cindy) Brevik.
Preceding Lloyd in death are his parents, Sidney and Alice Papineau; wife, Arlene Papineau; infant daughter, Marianne Papineau; step-son-in-law, Randy Smith; and infant great-granddaughters, Sophia Pesek and Leslie Ogaard.
His Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Williston.  Rev. Brian Knutson officiated. A private interment with Military Rites took place at Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
