Lois Rutz

Lois Ileene Rutz, 84, of Tacoma, Wash., passed away June 5, 2014. She passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side. She was born July 15, 1929, in Moose Jaw, Sask., Canada.
Her parents were Thomas Franklin Lawler and Myrtle Dorothy Dodge. She moved to Watford City, N.D., as a young child, where she was raised on a farm and attended school. After she graduated from high school, she met her husband, Charles Rutz, whom she married Sept. 17, 1947, in Killdeer, N.D.
They had three children that they raised in North Dakota until 1967, when the family moved to Tacoma, Wash. Lois was a true country girl and her heart was always with North Dakota.
She enjoyed receiving the McKenzie County Farmer where her and Charles would reminisce about their friends, family and past.
She was preceded in death by her parents and youngest son, Todd Rutz. She was survived by her son, Daryl “Brent” Rutz and daughter, Sherri Rutz. She enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren; Rick, Michael, Jeffrey, Daryl Jr., Jillian, Brandon, David and nine great- grandchildren. Lois enjoyed gardening, baking, oil painting, shopping and spending time with her family.
