Lucille Nelson

Funeral services for Lucille Laura Nelson, 100 of Watford City, N.D., were held Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel in Watford City, N.D., with Pastor Rob Favorite officiating. Interment was held in the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City, N.D.
Lucille was born and raised in Wildrose, N.D., graduated from Wildrose High School in 1932, shortly thereafter she moved to Watford City to work as a waitress at Anthony’s Cafe. Rumor has it she had $17.00 in her purse when she arrived. She continued to work at most stores on Main Street until retirement.
She married Albert A Nelson (Buster) and they had two children, Barry and Joan. Lucille was known for her beautiful smile and her pleasant personality.
Preceded in death by husband, Buster; son, Barry; grandson, Jeffrey; parents, Fred and Laura Melcher; brothers, Fred, Gene and Raymond Melcher and sisters, Margaret Medalen, Gertrude Anderson and Iris Peterson.
She had a special place in her heart for all her and Buster’s nieces and nephews.
 She is survived by daughter, Joan Berg and husband Bob, grandson, Robert Scott Berg and his wife Terri and great-grandchildren Leah and Troy; daughter-in-law, Linda Nelson and granddaughters, Nicole Nelson and Carrie Wright and great-granddaughters, Lauren and Audrey Wright.
