Marion Anderson

Marion Anderson, 91 of New Town, N.D., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2016, in the McKenzie County Hospital.
Marion was born to Frank and Lillian (Stello) Royal on April 14, 1925, on the family farm in Big Bend Township, Mountrail County.
She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Sanish High School.
After graduation, she moved to Washington to work as “Rosie the Riveter” at Boeing. She then moved to California to work at a ship yard.
Marion married Clarence Lee and lived in Flathead Lake, Mont., before moving back to North Dakota to help on the farm. Together they had seven children and later separated.
She met Homer Wyckoff and had one daughter. Following Homer’s death, she married Roger W. Anderson on March 17, 1973. Marion continued to farm until their retirement.
She was a member of the Grand Valley Lutheran Church, Bethel Lutheran Church, the Ladies’ Aid, Four Bears Saddle Club and many other organizations. Marion loved camping, gardening, cooking, baking, horseback riding and especially spending time with family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Sharon (Calvin) Brown, Alan (Debbie) Lee, Mark (Cheryl) Lee, Keith (Stella) Lee, Aneda (Jack) Fladeland, Tammy (Pem) Hall, Sheri (Gary) Danks; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lillian; sister, Florence; son, Gary Lee; grandson, Cody Larson; great-grandsons, Jalen Lee and Taylor Fladeland.
Her funeral service was Friday, July 22, 2016, at 1 p.m. in Bethel Lutheran Church, New Town. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at Sanish Riverview Cemetery.
