Ralph Koeser

Ralph Koeser, 96, of Watford City, N.D., died Wednesday morning, Sept. 30, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Watford City, N.D. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at the Fulkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Watford City. Rev. Adrian Timmons officiated and interment was at Johnson Corners Cemetery, east of Watford City. A reception followed the burial at Johnson Corners Wesleyan Church. Ralph Carson Koeser was born, and named, Roelf Karstan, July 22, 1913, to Claus T. and Clara (Shave) Koeser. He was raised and educated near the family home in Northfork Township, McKenzie County.
Ralph farmed and ranched on the family farm that his father homesteaded. He raised registered Hereford cattle and horses. In his earlier years, Ralph enjoyed playing dominos, checkers and carom. He also enjoyed singing and was part of a men’s quartet. He loved to travel, hunt, fish and collect antiques.
Ralph is survived by his brother, Raymond (Clara) Pahrump, of Nevada; sister-in-law, Natalie Koeser of Watford City, N.D.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edwin and Claus; and sisters, Pearl Lovaas and Fern Lillibridge.
