Robert Leppell, 52, of Pierre, S.D., formerly of New Town, N.D., died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015.
Robert was born on Jan. 24, 1963, in Stanley, to Lester and Kay Leppell. He was raised in New Town and attended school there.
Following his schooling, he worked as a welder’s helper and as a Roustabout for Rink Construction in the Keene area. In 1991, Robert was injured in an automobile accident that left him partially disabled.
He moved to Williston and worked doing various jobs until he began working with race horses that led him to make a move to Pierre. He resided there for the past five years until losing his battle with cancer.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Kelly Leppell; sisters, Patty (Mark) Bobbe, Ellendale, N.D.; Laurie (Les) Krueger, New Town, N.D.; Loreen (Dick) Goodrich, Albuquerque, N.M.; Kathy (Arnie) Kessel, Dickinson, N.D.; brothers, Frank (Wanda) Leppell, Charlson, N.D.; James (Taunie) Leppell, Keene, N.D.; Cris Ogden, New Town, N.D.; and Kenny (Linda) Leppell, Great Falls, Mont.
He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents; his dad, Lester Leppell; his mother, Kay Leppell; a brother, Jeff Ogden; and a nephew, James Wes Leppell.
