Steven Iverson
Steven W. Iverson, 59, of Redmond, Ore., passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010, at Partners in Care Hospice House in Bend, Ore.
Steven was born Feb. 12, 1951, in Kenmare, N.D., to Wallace and Eva Louise Iverson. He attended schools in Portal, N.D., and graduated from North Dakota State University, Fargo, N.D., with a Business degree. Upon graduation, he spent four years in the Navy.
He spent several years working as a telegrapher for the Soo Line Railroad. He was a Border Patrol Agent in Chula Vista, Calif.; an Immigration Inspector at Sea-Tac Airport in Seattle, Wash.; and a Deportation Officer in Yakima, Wash. Steven was united in marriage to Louellen Anderson on June 25, 1988, in Williston, N.D. When Steven joined the State Department as a Diplomatic Security Special Agent, his assignment took Steven and Louellen to the American Embassy in Djibouti, East Africa, and the American Embassy in Canberra, Australia, where Steven was the Regional Security Officer. Steven’s next assignment was in Portsmouth, N.H., where he served as a Visa and Passport Fraud Investigator. Upon retiring in 2002, Steven and Louellen moved to Redmond, Ore.
Steven is survived by his wife, Louellen (Anderson) Iverson of Redmond, Ore.; his father, Wally Iverson of Minot, N.D.; his sister, Nicole (Michael) Neesham of Chadds Ford, Penn.; his brothers, Timothy (Mary) of Horace, N.D.; and Scott Iverson, of Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Louise Iverson.
Steven loved adventure and was a man of integrity, honesty, and strength. He made an impression on everyone he met. The greatest impact on his life was when he invited Jesus to be his Lord and Savior. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at The View, 2905 Elk Drive, Minot, N.D.
