Vickie Evans

Vickie Evans, 73, of Shoshoni, Wyo., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at Wyoming Medical Center Casper, Wyo., while surrounded by family with Hallmark movies playing.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home. A viewing was held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home, and again one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton, Wyo.  A reception followed at the Reach Center.
Vickie was born on June 2, 1952, in Payson, Utah, to Max and Lois (Batty) Evans. She grew up in Utah and Colorado before moving to North Dakota, where she lived for many years. In 1997, she moved to Riverton to be closer to her parents and later made her home in Shoshoni to be near her family and to enjoy the beautiful mountain views she loved so much.

Throughout her life, Vickie’s faith was the foundation that guided her. She had been a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and her devotion to God helped her through life’s many challenges and was evident in her kindness and compassion toward others. Miss Vickie taught Sunday School, led Vacation Bible School, and served as a youth leader to hundreds of children over her years of service to the Lord.

Vickie worked for many years as an oilfield secretary in North Dakota and Wyoming. Before retiring, she worked as a secretary at Western Family Care, where she loved her work as she genuinely loved helping people.
She was an incredible gardener, loved to cook and bake, and was especially known for her delicious fudge and chicken and noodles. Her contagious smile and selfless, giving heart made her a joy to all who knew her. Vickie genuinely loved helping others and cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She treasured receiving photos from her grandkids, hosting sleepovers filled with laughter and fun, and attending every grandchild’s sporting event - from New York to Kansas to Washington to Wyoming.
She is survived by her son, Bill Carlson of Watford City, N.D.; daughters, Tawnya (Wesley) Larson of Carrington, N.D., Tisha Kennell of Alaska, Teresa (Charlie) Dewitt of Shoshoni, Wyo., and Missy (John) Metzler of Shoshoni, Wyo.; grandchildren, Kayla (Mike) Wyer, Leslea (Jonam) Michieka, Miranda Larson, Garrett (Sydney) Larson, Tel (Destiny) Kennell, Catherine Brown, Kaylee Dewitt, Kadon Dewitt, Korbin Dewitt, Kyle (Makenzie) Carlson, Halle (Andoni) Carlson, Emma Carlson, Josephine Carlson, Zoey Carlson, Brenna Metzler, and Cambree Metzler; great-grandchildren, Faith, Carson, Owen, Hayes, Addilyn, Ella, and Indie; and great-great grandchild Malakhai.
