The Alexander Comets traveled to Towner for a Region 6 matchup with the T-G-U Titans last Friday. They used an explosive offensive attack to win 62-20. Everything Alexander tried seemed to work as they outscored the Titans 32-6 in the first quarter and then added 24 more in the second quarter. The Comets got some younger players in the game for the second half as they cruised to the 42-point victory.
“The plan was to close out region play with a win, and the boys did just that,” said Alexander head coach, Trey Jacobson. “We knew if we came away with the win we would cement ourselves as the No. 2 seed in our region at worst with a chance at the No. 1 seed, depending on the results of region games the final week. The boys knew being the No. 1 or No. 2 team means we get to host a home playoff game. After getting a taste of that last year, they came ready to get the job done.”
