The Comets have now won their first five games of 2023 as they defeated Central McLean 40-28 on Friday night. “It was a hard fought, physical game for all four quarters,” said Alexander head coach Trey Jacobson. The 28 points scored by the Cougars was the fewest they have scored in a game this year and it was the most the Comets had allowed an opponent to score. While it wasn’t the most dominant the Comet defense had played this year, it was enough to get the win, thanks in large part to their dynamic offense which racked up 398 total yards, 40 points and six touchdowns.
