No. 5 Alexander defended their home turf successfully last Friday night with a 44-0 victory over Towner-Granville-Upham. The dominant win kept Alexander in a tie with Divide County for first place atop the Region 3 standings.
Alexander played well in all three facets of the game. The offense gained 364 yards on 52 plays, averaging seven yards per play. The Comets rushed for three touchdowns and scored three more through the passing game. The special teams contributed with good kick coverage and a Collin Spell kickoff return for touchdown. The defense kept the Titans off the scoreboard the entire night and grabbed two interceptions.
“Playing team defense is something we talk about a lot,” said Alexander head coach, Trey Jacobson. “If everyone does their own individual job, good things will happen. On Friday, the guys did just that, it was fun to watch them fly around and execute for four quarters.”
