Watford City traveled to Mandan last Friday night and lost to the Braves 90-39. Mandan played a suffocating defense that prevented the Wolves from getting into an offensive rhythm for the whole game.
Watford City was forced to play without Gracen Breitbach, their second-leading scorer, who was dealing with a hamstring injury. Watford City head coach Tom Dwyer said, “Gracen has a lot of experience. She does a lot of good things for our team in every aspect from rebounding, defense and offense. It just puts a lot of pressure on the rest of the team when you have to replace a player of her caliber. It is good to get some of our sophomores playing more minutes and helping us have more players we can rely on as the year goes on. Hopefully we’ll get Gracen back and be better for it.
