The Watford City Wolves started their football season with a 30-6 loss to #5 Grand Forks Central on Aug. 18. Three big passing plays for Grand Forks Central’s offense proved to be the difference in an otherwise competitive matchup.
The first touchdown (TD) came on the first play of Grand Forks Central’s second drive as Noah Morkve completed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Jack Simmers. The next long pass came with 9:49 left in the second quarter when Morkve hit Leo Strandell for a 62-yard score.
