Watford City’s varsity football team saw its season record fall to 0-6 as the Wolves fell to Grand Forks Red River on Friday, Oct. 1.
The Rough Riders got on the scoreboard early in the first quarter before holding a 9-0 halftime lead.
The Wolves would cut their deficit to three points, 9-6, in the third quarter when Izaak Boekelman connected on a 93-yard pass play to Levi Musser to complete a three-play, 98-yard drive. That touchdown pass broke the Watford City High School record set in 1972 when Steve Hovet connected on a 90-yard pass to Richard Johnson.
