Jacobson nominated to McDonald’s All American Boys Basketball Team

Trey Jacobson, a senior basketball player at Watford City High School, has earned two prestigious post season awards as he was selected to the State Class B All State second team, as well as being nominated to the McDonald’s All American High School Boys Basketball Team.
During his senior year with the Wolves, Jacobson averaged 16.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 5.7 steals per game for Watford City. He was also named the District 15 and Region 8 Senior Athlete of the Year in boys basketball.
Jacobson was one of 1,000 male prep basketball standouts in the nation to be nominated by the McDonald’s All American Basketball Team Selection Committee, a group of nationally prominent basketball experts.
As a nominee, Jacobson, a 5’10” guard was considered for one of 24 positions on the final 2011 All American High School Basketball Team that will compete in the McDonald’s All American High School Basketball Game on March 30 in Chicago.
“Trey is a unique player in the aspect that he does a little bit of everything on the floor very well,” stated Randy Cranston, Wolves’ head coach. “He understands the game, makes good decisions, defends, can shoot the ball from the outside or get to the basket. He is very deserving of this award as not many high school players are as well-rounded as he is on the playing floor.”
Jacobson is only the second Watford City High School boys basketball player to be nominated to the McDonald’s All American Team. He joins Justin Shipman, a 2008 nominee, to be nominated as a McDonald’s All American.
Jacobson is the son of Todd and Terrille Jacobson of Alexander.
