Mandaree advances in Region 8 Girls Basketball Tournament

The Mandaree girls basketball team kept their playoff dreams alive on Monday night as the Warriors defeated the Burke County Titans 62-32 in opening round action of the Region 8 Girls Basketball Tournament.

Mandaree used its quickness on defense and strong inside scoring to knock off the Burke County Titans 62-32 in Monday night’s action of the Region 8 Girls Basketball Tournament at Williston State College.
The Warriors easily handled the Titans as Mandaree jumped out to a 19-13 first quarter lead and were never challenged in the game. Mandaree led Burke County 37-20 at halftime and by 26 points, 51-25, at the end  of three quarters of play.
Desiraey Bolman had a game high 22 points, while Toni Johnson added 16 points in the winning effort for Mandaree.
Rounding out the scoring for Mandaree was Audrey Irwin and Kaelani Iu with eight points each, while Jada Charging and Hailey Lincoln netted four points each.
For the game, Mandaree shot 26 of 65 from the field for 40 percent and was good on nine of 11 at the charity stripe.
