Jaelyn Ogle, who entered the State Class A Cross Country Meet on Saturday, Oct. 23, as the state’s third fastest runner, ran one of her best races of the season to finish in second place and was named to the Class A All-State Team.
Ogle, a junior, completed the 5K course in a time of 18:44.14 to trail first place finisher Eleni Lovgren of Williston, who turned in a time of 18:27.02.
Ogle has been one of Watford City’s dominant runners as she has placed at state every year since 2017 when she placed eighth at the Class B level. After the Wolves moved to the Class A division, she placed 12th in 2018, 4th in 2019 and second in 2020.
“I am proud of Jaelyn and how she bounced back from an injury keeping her from running for most of the season,” stated Sydney Lund, girls head coach. “And I’m proud of the good times we ran on a difficult course at state and the way the meet went.”
