Watford 73, New England 62
The Wolves played their best offensive game of the season so far and it resulted in their first win. They shot 54 percent for the game, scored 25 points in the first quarter and built up a 12-point advantage at halftime.
Ten 3-pointers were made by five different Wolves. New England went on a 15-4 run to cut the lead to 46-42 in the third quarter, but that was the closest the Tigers would get.
Head coach David Gumke reflected on the second half “We needed to come out better than we did to start the second half and get stops, but we battled through that. We had a good possession after a timeout that resulted in a Landon Vetter 3-pointer. Carter Breitbach had a couple of steals with one resulting in a layup. Landon Vetter had an awesome chase down block, and also had a steal down the stretch. The guys did a good job at working the shot clock down before taking a shot. We also made our free throws. They were focused and were not going to be denied.”
