The Wolves baseball team traveled to the Capital City on Monday and gave the Century Patriots everything they could handle. “That was the best doubleheader we have played in ten years, regardless of the outcome,” said Watford City coach Pat Spacher. “We turned a year’s worth of double plays for us. Judd Johnsrud threw a complete game on only 67 pitches. We just didn’t support him offensively though we had opportunities.”
The pitcher’s duel only had seven hits and the only run was scored by the Patriots in the bottom of the first inning. Landon Ledahl had two of Watford City’s three hits. Paco Baldenegro added a double and a stolen base. Johnsrud’s pitching line ended with six innings, four hits, one earned run, one walk and three strikeouts.
