Raehs Peutz and Asha Smith led the Watford City cross country teams at the Becki Wells Invitational this past Saturday in Dickinson. The meet featured the state’s top Class A and B cross country teams.
Raehs Peutz finished in 20th place in the boys varsity division with a time of 17:02.05.
“Raehs again had a great showing in Dickinson and is competing extremely well,” stated Greg Brown, Wolves’ head coach. “If we look at just the Class B runners, he was the fourth place boy, and those three that beat him will be competing for the state championship at the end of the year.”
In the girls varsity division, Asha Smith, who has been struggling with an injury, finished in 13th place with a time of 16:22.96.
“Asha would have been in third place in Class B runners, but is struggling with an injury,” stated Brown.
In the junior varsity division, Michael Brown was 37th with a time of 20:05.49. Other place finishers for the boys team were: 56. Osman Leon, 20:57.47; 58. Dakota Garmann, 21:04.59; 60.
