Watford pounds Mandaree

Watford City’s varsity girls basketball team steam-rolled over a very young and inexperienced Mandaree team, 89-15, last Tuesday as the Wolves improved their season record to 9-2.
The next action for Watford City will be on Feb. 8 when the Wolves travel to Beulah.

In a game that was over before it started, Watford City rolled over the Mandaree Warriors, 89-15, in varsity girls basketball action last Tuesday.
Six Watford City players scored in double figures in the contest with Madison Brown pacing the Wolves with a game high 16 points. Also scoring in double digits for the Wolves was McKayla Haugeberg with 15 points, Sadie Kieson with 11 points, while Amanda Mogen, Alyssa Prichard and Kara Langerud netted 10 points each.
The Wolves, who held the Warriors to single-digit scoring in each of the four quarters, led Mandaree 36-2 at the end of the first quarter and 48-10 at halftime. The second half saw the same scoring differential with Watford City posting scoring advantages of 25-2 and 16-5 in the final two quarters.
Rounding out the scoring for Watford City was Jessica Brown with eight points, Jeanna Zenz with seven points and Lea Arndt with two points.
Nancy Lincoln paced the Warriors in scoring with 10 points, while Arline Charging and Jerrilane Lincoln netted three and two points, respectively.
