It is amazing what warm temperatures, and low wind can do for the performances of track and field athletes. We had a very good day competing in Minot. Thaydan Arnold had an awesome day and became our first boy qualifier for the year. He qualified the shot put with a throw of 50’9”, which is a new personal best by about two feet to place second. He also threw very well in the discus improving his best by about 6 feet with a throw of 132’ 2” placing 3rd. Dehico Bocanegra Tovar was a double winner in the 1600 and 800 meter races, setting personal bests in both and just missing the qualifying time in the 1600 by half of a second. Xavier McGorman is jumping very well in the high jump. He cleared 6 feet to place second. He had very good attempts at the qualifying height of 6’2”. There were many personal bests by our athletes. We placed 5th as a team. Our next meets will be on Tuesday April 29th followed by Friday May 2nd both are in Dickinson at the DSU BAC.
