It was a very good week of basketball for the Watford City boys varsity basketball team as the Wolves picked up wins over Tioga, North Shore-Plaza and Powers Lake. With the wins, the Wolves improved their season record to 6-4.
This week the Wolves will travel to Beulah on Saturday before hosting Stanley on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Watford City 63, Tioga 53
Watford City got off to a very cold start against Tioga last Tuesday as the Wolves found themselves trailing the Pirates, 20-5. But a strong second half propelled the Wolves to a key region win.
Trailing the Pirates, 36-21, at halftime, Watford City needed to turn its game around in the second half. And turn it around they did!
While the Wolves were able to cut the Pirates lead to 11 points, 47-36, going into the final quarter, Watford City had a lot of work ahead in order to pull off the come-from-behind win.
But when the buzzer sounded eight minutes later, the Wolves had outscored the Pirates, 27-6, to pull off the seemingly impossible win.
Mitchell Liebel and Logan Fettig paced the Wolves in scoring with 23 and 15 points, respectively, while Dustin Kleppen netted nine points.
Also scoring for Watford City was Bo Cook with seven points, Seth Indergard with three points, while David Kline, Dillon Smith and Andrew Sampsel netted two points each.
