Wolves Baseball have a tough week

Watford City 2, Dickinson 22
Dickinson defeated Watford City Wolves 22-2 last Tuesday, with 19 runs in the first inning.
Dickinson jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Kyler Kudrna singled, scoring one run; Jack Price singled, scoring one run; Jake Balliet was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Christian Tibor drew a walk, scoring one run; Nick Sobolik doubled, scoring two runs; Kudrna singled, scoring two runs; Will Easum drew a walk, scoring one run; Balliet drew a walk, scoring one run; Tibor singled, scoring two runs; Sobolik singled, scoring one run; Jordan Ham singled, scoring one run; Kudrna tripled, scoring three runs; Price singled, scoring one run, and one run scored on another play.


A triple by Kudrna, and an error helped Dickinson extend their early lead in the second.
Emerson Simnioniw started on the mound for Dickinson. The starter gave up one hit and two runs over five innings, striking out one and walking one.


Kieron Tolbert and Isaiah Leahy were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Wolves. Leahy went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead the Wolves in hits.


Dickinson accumulated 12 hits in the game. Kudrna went 4-for-6 at the plate and led the team with eight runs batted in. Sobolik, Ham, and Price each collected multiple hits for Dickinson. Dickinson had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 14 walks for the game. Tyler Danbom, Easum, and Tibor led the team with three walks each. Kudrna stole two bases. Dickinson ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game.

In game two, a hit by a pitch put Watford City Wolves on the board in the top of the first.
Jack Price grounded out, which helped Dickinson tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Dickinson made the score 5-1 in the bottom of the second after Nick Sobolik was struck by a pitch, driving a run, Jordan Ham was struck by a pitch, driving a run, and Kyler Kudrna grounded out, scoring two runs.


Dickinson extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third with a RBI ground outs by Christian Tibor and Easton Hugelen.


Trysten Devries stepped on the hill first for the Wolves. He gave up one hit and seven runs (five earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three. Tyler Danbom led things off on the hill for Dickinson. He allowed two hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.


Carter Branstrom and Josh Chavez each collected two hits for the Wolves. Chavez, Braylen Tolbert, and Isaiah Leahy each drove in one run for the Wolves. The Wolves ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game.
Kudrna led Dickinson with two hits in four at bats. Sobolik, Ham, Price, Kudrna, and Hugelen each drove in one run for Dickinson. Dickinson ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game.

Watford City 1, Mandan 8
Watford City Wolves couldn’t keep up with Mandan and fell 8-1 last Thursday.
Mandan were the first to get on the board in the first when Cameron Beaver hit into a double play, with a one run scored.
The Wolves scored on a wild pitch, which helped the Wolves tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.


Mandan took the lead in the top of the sixth. Hudson Sheldon tripled, scoring three runs, to give Mandan the lead, 4-1.
Hunter Cowan led on the mound for the Wolves. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and six runs over six and one-third innings, striking out none and walking eight.


Carter Branstrom and Paco Baldenegro were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for the Wolves. The Wolves ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game.

Mandan were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run.
Harper Moberg signled to center field, which helped the Wolves tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
An error gave Mandan the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second.


Mandan added to their early lead in the top of the third inning

after the Wolves committed an error, and Jack Took grounded out, each scoring one run.
Brandon Spacher started the game for the Wolves. He gave up three hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out three and walking four. Took started on the bump for Mandan. The starter surrendered two hits and one run over four innings, striking out eight and walking three.


Moberg led the Wolves with one run batted in. He went 1-for-3 on the day. Paco Baldenegro went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wolves in hits. The Wolves ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.
