Watford City Early Bird 4/8
Boys varsity team placed 14th and boys JV team placed 3rd. There were 23 teams at our meet. It was an exciting meet that finished under the lights. Pole vault was fun to watch. It was one of the last field events to finish. Blake Homiston won the event with a new Dickinson High School record of 15’8”. We capped off the track events with the 4x400 relays running with music under the lights. Jeremiah Velasquez and Bryson Wolfe ran very well in the JV 400 placing 1st and 2nd with good times. Dickinson Invite 4/11
We had a good warm day to compete. Our athletes are really working hard and doing a good job of being competitive in their events. There were many personal records set today throughout the team.
The guys all have great attitudes and are focused on improving their personal bests every meet. Dehico Bocanegra Tovar ran well in his 800 and 1600 meter races, getting his times close to qualifying. Bryson Wolfe is figuring out how to run the 400 and is making nice improvements. We have 8-10 guys that are battling for a spot on the 4x400 relay team. Which is going to help motivate their training. It is very exciting to have that many guys running that well in the 400.
