Watford City’s girls softball team may have dropped the first two games of their inaugural season last Thursday to the Dickinson High JV team by scores of 15-4 and 10-3, but you would never have known it from the faces of the Wolves’ players.
Bright smiles and shouts of encouragement were the rule of the day as the Wolves took to the field.
“I thought we played very well for our first game in history,” stated Devin Langerud, girls softball head coach. “I was very proud of the team.  A lot of the girls had never picked up a softball before until this year. I’m excited to see how the season progresses.”
Even though the girls lost their first double-header, Langerud was pleased to see how well the girls performed.
“Kara Langerud and McKayla  Haugeberg did a great job batting for us,” stated Langerud. “My seniors Brianna Alex, Jennifer Levang, and Ciera Reeves are all great assets to the team and Haugeberg and Cassidy Chapin are also great leaders in the field and at practice.”
The Wolves next action will be on Thursday, April 19 when the girls host Des Lacs-Burlington at 4:30 p.m.
