Our meet was scheduled for Friday May 15, but was moved to Saturday May 16, because of the wind. We really benefited from the change of dates and came out with some of our best times and throws of the season.

The girls were able to get one more girl qualified for state and they also ran a season best in a relay which got them roughly a half-second away from the school record.

Aubrey Waggoner is our newest state qualifier in the 4x100 Relay. She ran on a team of Arlene Salas, Madalynn Greenhaw, Aubrey Waggoner, and Salil Shoemaker with a state qualifying time of 52.83.

Our 4x200 Relay had a great day too which consisted of Arlene Salas, Madalynn Greenhaw, Paige Schuster, and Brooke Kulseth. They finished with a time of 1:47.24 and our school record is a time of 1:46.84. That is a four tenths difference on breaking the school record. They have one, possibly two, more chances on breaking that record.

Top 8 placers are considered All Region. This year we had a few placers: Paige Schuster, 5th in the 400, Katie Olson, 8th in the 3200, 4x200 Relay with Arlene Salas, Madalynn Greenhaw, Paige Schuster, Brooke Kulseth, taking 6th , and Salil Shoemaker, 5th in Shot Put. For a good chuck of our athletes, this is their last competition of the year. They all have done a great job improving this year and I am proud of the success that they have shown throughout this year. We are young, but I can’t wait for what the future holds for us.
