Wolves Girls track fires up new season

Williston Indoor Meet 3/20
We had a good group of girls that placed well in their events. Fallon Sampsel won her 400m with a time of 1:02.31 and eighth in the 800m with a time of 2:47.11. Paige Schuster did well in her two opens placing second in the 400m with a time of 1:02.91 and third in the 200m with a time of 28.70. Arlene Salas was also right behind Paige in the 200m placing fourth with a time of 28.75. Salil Shoemaker tied for first place in the Shot Put with a throw of 33 feet and 10 inches. We also finished the track meet with the winning 4x400 Relay team of Paige Schuster, Arlene Salas, Darbie Moberg, Fallon Sampsel with a time of 4:26.73. Our hurdlers also had a good outing. In the Varsity height, Breanna Banie placed fourth with a time of 11.86 and Aubrey Waggoner placed sixth with a time of 14.14.
The JV height Brooklyn Roscoe placed fourth with a time of 12.09 and Madison Kulseth placed seventh with a time of 12.74.
Our next meet is March 27 in Williston, then the following week it will be April 4 in Mandan.

Williston Meet 3/27
I have never been a part of a outdoor track meet in March before in my life. It was a fun time to be outside but the weather was not as nice as we would’ve liked. The wind was howling making it hard for the meet in general. But on the positive note, we had a lot of people set Personal Record in their 100m and 200m dashes. The girls did great for their first outdoor meet of the season. I can’t wait to see what happens this season.
Our next meet will be in Mandan on Friday, April 4. Then we host a big Varsity/JV meet on Tuesday, April 8. Our Junior High will compete at our home track on Thursday, April 10.

We had two girls compete this year at the Fargo State Indoor Meet on Friday, March 28, and they did very well. Fallon Sampsel won the 400m with a time of 1:01.41 and placed 27th in the 200m with a time of 28.80. Katie Olson was also able to compete in the indoor meet placing 36th in the 1600 with a time of 2:49.28 and placing 23rd in the 1600 with a time of 6:06.52.
