With a 10-3 win over Des Lacs-Burlington last week, the Watford City Wolves punched their ticket to the State Class B Baseball Tournament.
Watford City, which is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming State Tournament, defeated Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood-Glenburn-Kenmare-Bowbells, 13-1, and Des Lacs-Burlington, 8-7, in its first two games of the Region 7 Baseball Tournament.
As the No. 1 seed the Wolves will take on Midkota in the fourth game, with an approximate start time of 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 29. The tournament, which will be held at the Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown, will conclude on May 31.
Watford City had five players, Andrew Sampsel, Brandon Allex, David Kline, Dakota Neether and Quayde Shores, named to the All-Region 7 Team.
Sampsel was named the Region 7 Senior Athlete of the Year and Justin Johnsrud was named the Region 7 Coach of the Year.

Watford City 10, DLB 3
Watford City was in complete control of the Region 7 championship game against Des Lacs-Burlington last Tuesday. Or at least they were in complete control for a solid six innings.
The Wolves, behind strong pitching by Dakota Neether, and some very good hitting, led DLB, 5-0, after two innings. Watford City would then hold DLB scoreless for the next two innings, while building a 10-0 lead through six innings.
But behind three errors by the Wolves, DLB was able to muster a small run-run rally. However, Watford City was able to close out the inning to take the win.
