Watford City traveled to Jamestown and beat the Blue Jays 34-21 last Friday night.
Behind a dominant offensive line and a relentless rushing attack, the Wolves piled up a school-record 479 yards on the ground, running the ball on all but one play. The previous record was 476 rushing yards in a 1985 win over Hettinger. Rhylie Ledahl-Berger and Trysten DeVries led the charge, combining for 385 rushing yards. Ledahl-Berger racked up 209 yards and found the end zone three times, while DeVries finished with 176 yards and two touchdowns. Watford City also capitalized on Jamestown’s mistakes, converting three Blue Jay fumbles into touchdowns. The first turnover came early, deep in Wolves territory - and Watford City made them pay. DeVries broke loose for a 23-yard score to cap a 78-yard drive and put the Wolves on the board.

Just minutes later, another Jamestown fumble set up an 89-yard march, ending with an 8-yard Ledahl-Berger touchdown to make it 14-0.

After a late second-quarter score by the Blue Jays trimmed the lead to 14-7, the Wolves wasted no time reasserting themselves. DeVries broke a 26-yard touchdown run to open the second half, pushing the lead to 20-7.

The defense stepped up again, recovering a third fumble and handing the ball back to the offense, which responded with another lengthy drive. Ledahl-Berger powered in from a yard out for a 27-7 lead late in the third quarter.
