Watford City may have struggled against Killdeer in the first half of Saturday’s quarterfinal action of the State Class A football playoffs, but the Wolves got themselves back on track in the second half to pull out a 41-12 win over the Cowboys.

Watford City opened the second half scoring on their first possession when Jacobson hooked up with Flatland for a 32-yard touchdown that capped off a 10-play scoring drive.
In the final quarter, Nolan Kalberer scored two fourth quarter touchdowns on runs of five and 18 yards, while Nick Liebel scored between Kalberer’s runs on a 40-yard pass from Jacobson.
Killdeer scored on a late fourth quarter pass to make the final 41-12.
“We were in complete control of the second half, rolling up a total of 193 yards of offense while giving up 32 yards if you take away the one pass play Killdeer had,” stated Fred Fridley, Wolves’ head coach.
With the win over Killdeer, Watford City will host Velva, who defeated Hazen 39-8, in the State Class A semifinals at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Fridley Field.
“We play a very good Velva team that hasn’t lost in two years, and are on a roll of their own,” says Fridley. “We must be ready to play our best game of the year.”
